MediaVillage Becomes Nonprofit, Places Focus On Educating Media's 'Next-Generation'

MyersBizNet, publisher of The Myers Report and MediaVillage.com, this morning announced it is converting MediaVillage to a nonprofit (501[C][3]) foundation and will focus the digital publishing platform on being a free resource for content aimed at the "next-generation" of talent for the ad-supported media industry.

"We've always been purpose-led," Founder Jack Myers stated in an announcement published in one of MediaVillage's newsletters this morning, adding: "Since our inception as The Myers Report in the 1980s, we've invested in professional development resources to prepare our industry for technological and generational change. As a non-profit, our investment in the next generation of leaders is more clearly defined."

Last month, Media Village announced the launch of a new self-publishing platform aimed at giving a voice to "new thought leaders" in the ad industry.

The site already boasts hosting more than 80 educational sites hosted by media companies, agencies, and trade associations.
