Goodyear, Dr Pepper Launch NASCAR Efforts

In celebration of Goodyear’s 125th anniversary, the tire manufacturer is revealing a special sidewall logo design.

The design will be on display for the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR during the weekend of May 12-14.

The vintage logo sidewall design features the historic Goodyear Wingfoot logo, originally created in 1898, and will be seen on 3,500 tires at all three national series races during Throwback Weekend – including the brand’s title sponsor Cup Series race, the Goodyear 400.

It coincides with the special 75th anniversary NASCAR Throwback Weekend of races held at the Darlington Raceway.

The logo also pays tribute to the longevity of the relationship between NASCAR and Goodyear, the longest-tenured sponsor in the sport. In 2022, Goodyear renewed its position as the exclusive tire for NASCAR's top three national series.

Race fans also had a chance to win a Throwback Weekend experience and other prizes by entering a sweepstakes at www.Goodyear400Sweepstakes.com. The sweepstakes ran through May 3.

Goodyear, the official tire of NASCAR, launched a campaign in February from GSD&M that shows how the company’s legacy is tied to the sport.

Also in conjunction with the NASCAR Throwback Weekend, Dr Pepper is officially returning to NASCAR as part of its long-standing partnership with 23XI Racing, the NASCAR team owned by six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin.

Racing fans will have a chance to scan the fastest QR code in the world, located on the front of 23XI driver Bubba Wallace’s racecar. Those who are quick enough to successfully scan the code can enter for the chance to win a limited edition racing-themed can of Dr Pepper signed by Bubba Wallace.

Only 175 cans will be up for grabs. Winners will be selected at random.
