Black Spot Adds Design Practice, Taps NBCU's Reyes To Run It

New York-based creative agency Black Spot has unveiled a new design practice called Aviary and has hired Alex Reyes to head the effort.

Black Spot works with major media clients like ABC, HBO and NBCUniversal on big program launches, trailers, upfronts, sizzle reels, and advertising campaigns.

Design has been an agency capability but demand is increasing so the agency is formalizing the practice. “This decision aligns with our commitment to meeting all of our clients' evolving needs,” says Black Spot founder John Laskas.

Reyes joins from NBCUniversal's creative team where he partnered with Black Spot on numerous projects including the network's Peacock launch.  His prior design experience includes work with Disney, Nokia, Showtime, Imaginary Forces, and Raison Pure.

The Aviary’offering includes:

      Concepting: inspiration boards, idea creation, research, storyboards;

      Key art and show packaging;

      Animation of static for social media, GIFs, cinemagraphs;

      Walk-on graphics for presentations.
