Shipping Sites See Holiday Spike

Web sites devoted to shipping, music, and jewelry and luxury goods, saw large traffic spikes last month, as holiday shoppers hit the virtual mall, according to new data from comScore Networks. About 35.6 million visitors went to shipping sites, such as UPS.com and USPS.com, in December--a 31 percent increase from the month before. Sites devoted to jewelry and luxury items saw more than 20 million visitors, marking a 22 percent increase from November; likewise, retail music sites garnered 34.8 million visitors last month, 22 percent more than the month before. --Wendy Davis
