Among other new features, Instagram is now allowing users to post music to their photo and video grid posts. To usher in the audio update, the Meta-owned social platform partnered with pop-star Olivia Rodrigo, who was the first person to use it. /p>
Rodrigo utilized the feature to release her new song, “bad idea right?”showing users how they too can attach a song of their choice to a carousel of photos and in the same way tracks can be integrated into Stories and Reels.
The song follows Rodrigo's most recent single “Vampire,” which the artists released in June, days after announcing the September release of her upcoming album, Guts.
In addition to this feature, which is in the process of rolling out to all users, Instagram has announced updates to Reels creation and collaborative publishing.
Now, when a follower makes a video in response to a prompt using the “add yours” sticker, they will have the chance to be showcased by the creator or artist who originally posted the prompt. Up to 10 fan response videos will appear at the top of a landing page after the creator makes their selections.
Lastly, Instagram is expanding its Collabs feature, which allows both public and private accounts to share and content together. Up to four accounts can now co-publish content that will appear in each other’s account feeds.
