Vizzy, Hardscoop Partner For Creamsicles To Get You Tipsy

 

In celebration of National Creamsicle Day Aug. 14, Molson Coors’ hard seltzer brand Vizzy is teaming up with alcohol-infused ice cream and sorbet makers Hardscoop for a tipsy take on a nostalgic summer classic.

The frozen treat incorporates Vizzy’s Orange Cream Pop Hard Seltzer into a limited-edition Hardscoop Orange Cream Pop creation, bringing the idea behind Vizzy’s nostalgia-fueled flavor to its logical conclusion.

Hardscoop Orange Cream Pop is available in six-packs beginning today through Hardscoop’s website to customers over 21 in most U.S. states, as long as supplies last.  It ships at room temperature but is intended to be frozen prior to consumption.

““At Hardscoop we’re always looking to create boozy treats that utilize cutting-edge formulas and flavor profiles,” Jason Kirby, president of Hardscoop, said in a statement, adding that the product uses the brand’s “first-of-its-kind dairy-based alcohol formula.”

Launched earlier this summer, Vizzy’s Orange Cream Pop Hard Seltzer has proven to be a hit for the brand, which sold more than $5.7 million of the product through July, contributing to a 64% dollar sales growth for Vizzy for the 13-week period compared to the prior period of that length, according to Circana’s all-outlet data cited by Molson Coors’ Beer & Beyond blog.

The offering is part of a broader branding shakeup for VIzzy, which introduced new packaging in the spring, and has seen sales outpacing the segment, even excluding sales from its Orange Cream Pop flavor, making it the second-fastest growing hard seltzer brand from a major brewer -- behind Topo Chico Hard Seltzer -- for the quarter, according to the blog.

“People remember getting orange cream pops from the neighborhood ice-cream truck. That flavor and smell bring back a lot of great summertime memories,” Vizzy associate marketing manager Rose Bleakley told Beer & Beyond, citing Mintel survey data showing that more than 76% of consumers aged 22 to 55 reported an affinity for products that spark past memories.
