Flying Media Group (FMG), parent of Flying and other aviation titles, has acquired AirlineGeeks, a digital media site focused on the airline industry.
Terms were not disclosed.
This is the 20th purchase of an aviation-related brand by Flying Media Group over the past two years.
FMG plans to use Airline Geeks to build a business-to-business market intelligence platform, offering data and news for the commercial aviation
industry.
AirlineGeeks delivers airline and aviation news from around the globe, and is followed by aviation enthusiasts, executives and analysts,
the company says.
The airline industry has a global market size of more than $840 billion, and is expected to enjoy a 4% compound annual rate over the next
decade, FMG reports.
“As people around the world become wealthier, they wish to travel,” says Craig Fuller, CEO of FMG. “Commercial flight is unmatched in its ability to link the world and offer experiences that are only possible because of the
efficiency of the global airline industry.”

Fuller adds that as “supply chains continue to build resilience into their operations, global air cargo
will experience exponential growth over the next few decades. This is what’s driving fast growth on an unprecedented scale.”
In April, FMG acquired
Plane & Pilot. In June, it was reported that the firm was purchasing Belvoid Media’s aviation publications, including AvWeb.com, Aviation
Consumer, Aviation Safety, IFR Magazine, and Kitplanes.
