ABC Replaces "Commander In Chief" With "Sons & Daughters"

  • January 30, 2006
ABC will replace "Commander In Chief" in its Tuesday slot starting March 7--although it will return--with back-to-back episodes of new comedy "Sons & Daughters." Starring Geena Davis, the first-year "Commander" is tied for 35th among network shows in the 18-49 demo (3.8 average--lower than time period competitors "House" and "The Amazing Race." It will return in the spring with all original episodes, the network said. The half-hour "Sons & Daughters" focuses on married life and raising kids near an extended family. One ABC mid-season comedy--the heavily promoted "Emily's Reason's Why Not" starring Heather Graham--has already failed, as the network yanked it after one episode.
