Allman Brothers Band Gets Its Own Bourbon

Music and booze often go hand in hand, especially when it comes to Three Chord Bourbon, which has a Backstage Series of musician collaborations. This year the brand announced the Allman Brothers Band will collaborate on the new 2024 Backstage Series Bourbon.

The small-batch bourbon is “a blend of straight bourbon whiskey finished with toasted peach wood,” per the brand. The concept for the Allman Brothers Band bourbon first developed in 2022, with the band’s managers and the Allman Brothers Foundation, as a way to introduce the band to new audiences, per the release.

"This bourbon is a true testament to the art of blending and finishing, encapsulating the spirit and soul of (the band’s) music while offering a unique sensory experience through its finely tuned flavors,” Neil Giraldo, founder of Three Chord Bourbon said in the release.

The band branding goes far beyond the name. The entire effort was inspired by the iconic album "Eat a Peach," which carries through from the label design to the blend of bourbons to the custom toasted peach wood finish.

"The music of the Allman Brothers Band is part of our culture and has been part of my soundtrack as far back as I can remember," said Ari Sussman, whiskey maker at Three Chord Bourbon in the release. "We set out to make a whiskey with bold, distinctive aromas and flavors, while incorporating elements from the band's iconography. After various prototypes, we decided to focus on toasted peach wood, [which] can impart sweetness, structure and a hint of smoke that enhances the whiskey base."

The limited edition bourbon is available for preorder at https://allmanbrothersband.mashnetworks.co/, which will ship Aug. 28. It will also be available at select retailers later in 2024. Three Chord is promoting the bourbon in-store as well as on its social channels.
