Publicis New York has appointed Nikki Maizel as the agency’s new president. She is based in New York and reports to Carla Serrano, Global Chief Strategy Officer of Publicis Groupe and Chief Executive Officer of PNY.

Maizel succeeds Steve Shames who was elevated to Chief Growth Officer of Publicis Groupe U.S. in July.

Maizel will oversee global integrated “Power of One” accounts and work closely with global client leaders. Those clients include L’Oreal, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble and others.

Maizel is the latest senior appointment at the agency. Last year it named Patrick White as its Chief Strategy Officer and added Joe Mongognia as its Chief Creative Officer.
