Nearly Half Of Gen Z Have Lied About Who They've Voted For

Here are some sad findings from a new poll from Stagwell’s Harris Poll. It seems that many voters feel they have to lie about who they vote for in political elections.

The main reason: preserving relationships with family or friends.

Per the survey, conducted with Axios, 48% of Gen Z admit they have lied to someone close to them about whom they’ve voted for. That compares with 38% of Millennials, 17% of Gen X and 6% of Boomers.

Overall 23% admit to lying about their voting choice and 22% say they potentially would lie. 33% of Americans say are “disenfranchised” from some family member over politics. That rises to 44% for Gen Z and 47% for Millennials.

58% say they believe voting is a private matter. It’s not clear from the survey if the other 42% feel votes have to be disclosed, which of course isn’t the case.

According to the poll, men are twice as likely to lie about who they voted for than women.

27% of Democrats admit to lying about who they vote for, compared to 24% of Republicans. For Independents the number drops to 20%.

Gosh.   The voters are lying ... nothing like following prior Presidents.
