Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett is shutting down its Detroit office (located in nearby Troy, MI) at the end the year.
The action affects 79 employees and follows the agency’s loss of a significant portion of its General Motors business earlier this year.

As required by Michigan law, the agency notified the state of its intention to close the office and layoff its employees in a letter dated November 1. The agency indicated in the letter that the closing will take place on or about Dec. 31.
Leo Burnett had handled creative for Buick, GMC and Cadillac. In June, GM had indicated that Leo Burnett would continue to support pieces of its business (customer care and after sales and some global work).
