Hearst Names PMG As Its Creative/Media Agency

Hearst has named PMG, a global marketing services company, as its creative and media agency.

The appointment is part of a multimillion-dollar, multiplatform investment in brand-building across Hearst’s businesses, the company says.

PMG’s first campaign for Hearst will start rolling out next month in such newspapers as Houston Chronicle and San Francisco Chronicle. The multichannel effort will focus on the role local newspapers play in their communities, and on Hearst’s storytelling capabilities.

“Hearst is a growing, diversified company with a rich, iconic history dating back to 1887,” says Jon Dupuis, president of PMG.

Dupuis continues, “As its lead agency, we will combine Hearst’s keen understanding of people and their passions with the creative and data-driven insights from our Alli marketing intelligence platform to position Hearst as the go-to source for people looking to stay informed, engaged and connected to their community while also maximizing success for its individual brands.”

In other Hearst-related news, the company announced it is purchasing an office building in San Francisco’s North Financial District.

Hearst believes that “San Francisco remains a vital market for innovation and commerce,” says Steve Hearst, vice president and general manager of Hearst’s Western Properties Real Estate Division.

Hearst adds that “this acquisition reflects our belief in the city’s long-term resilience and appeal as a destination for world-class businesses.”
