For a new “Sleep Training For Grown-Ups” campaign, Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of the Marriott Bonvoy brand portfolio, teamed up with perhaps the most well-known brand in the celebrity-founded wellness and lifestyle brand space: Goop.
Founded by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, the company’s notoriety hasn’t always been positive. Over the years, Goop has found itself on the receiving end of both punchlines and lawsuits. The latter includes multiple legal complaints related to questionable health claims Goop has made about its products. In 2021, the company agreed to pay a $145,000 settlement in a false advertising lawsuit.
Produced by ANR Studios, the series features Paltrow alongside Dr. Cheri D. Mah, a sleep physician and research scientist, starring in videos designed to help viewers improve sleep experiences at home or while traveling. Topics include combating the “First Night Effect” when traveling, discussing what the ideal room temperature is for sleep (60-67 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the series), and debunking common myths around topics like “sleep debt” and strategic napping.

Titles in the series released so far include “Is the Napuccino an Effective Sleep Method?” (Mah does advocate for taking short 20-30 minute power nap immediately after consuming caffeine, as a temporary tiredness-fighting tactic, while stressing the importance of falling asleep within ten minutes). Another video in the series deals with “How to Manage a Racing Mind Before Bed,” a timely topic given the anxieties of following the current news cycle.
The series is now live on a new Sleep Training Hub on Goop’s website, which also includes a dedicated Sleep Shop featuring both Westin’s next-generation Heavenly Bed and Goop beauty, fashion, home, and wellness products “curated through the lens of a great night’s sleep.”
“Of all the wellness topics that have captured my interest over the years, sleep has remained the most essential,” Paltrow said in a statement, calling the partnership with Westin and Dr. Mah an “opportunity to explore and share insights on a fundamental pillar of well-being.”
“Sleep Training For Grown-Ups” arrives nearly a year after Westin introduced a revamped version of its Heavenly Bed, which the brand claims was developed in collaboration with sleep experts.
So the new series aligns with a sleep-centered focus that Westin has built its brand on for decades.
“At Westin, delivering a truly restorative night’s sleep is a commitment -- our north star,” Roe added, characterizing the partnership as “blending expert-backed wellness solutions with Westin’s signature sleep amenities, ensuring travelers wake up not just rested, but truly restored.”
