On Wednesday,
The Wall Street Journal announced that it would reformat its Asian and European newspaper editions, in response to complaints about recently adopted "tabloid" formats. According
to Chief Executive Officer Richard Zannino, readers felt "there is less of a paper than before" because of the move to tabloid format. The paper made the move to tabloid format to cut costs as the
overseas editions struggled to turn a profit. Zannino said he expected the Asian edition to turn a profit in 2006, while the European edition would likely post a small loss.
