March saw 1.6 online job ads per 100 U.S. workers, marking a sharp increase from 1.33 in February and 1.44 in January, according to new data from The Conference Board. Overall, the total number of
online job ads last month surpassed 2.4 million, with 414,600 new ads in March alone. The Conference Board's report came two weeks after online job company Monster Worldwide, parent company of
Monster.com, reported that its own employment index rose to 164 last month, representing a 34-point jump from March of 2005.
