MTV revealed plans on Monday to start streaming simultaneous online accompaniments to its live television programming, beginning with coverage of its Video Music Awards at the end of August. The
programming test will continue through fall episodes of Total Request Live, where fans will be able to log on to the network's broadband channel, MTV Overdrive, and stream secondary Webcasts of the
day's shows at the same time they are shown on TV. The online version of the shows will consist of behind-the-scenes coverage and the like.
