American Online today said it will acquire Advertising.com for $435 million in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition of the provider of online marketing services is expected to help AOL target more
than 140 million users of its network services with online offers. "Online advertising is showing very strong growth across the industry, and the acquisition of Advertising.com underscores AOL's
determination to strengthen its competitive position," said Jonathan Miller, Chairman and CEO of America Online Inc. in a press statement.
