AOL Debuts New Sundance Program

  • June 14, 2006
AOL will debut the first episode of Sundance Channel's "House of Boateng" on AOL Black Voices next Tuesday--two days before the show premieres on TV. While AOL also streamed the pilot of the WB's "Jack & Bobby" in advance of the air date in 2004, the "Boateng" stream will mark the first time that AOL has debuted a show of a network it has no corporate relationship with. (Sundance Channel is a venture of NBC Universal, CBS Corp.'s Showtime Networks Inc., and Robert Redford.) The move is intended to spark viewer interest in the broadcast version of the program; AOL's stream will not be accompanied by video ads.
