A consortium of venture capitalists that includes media entrepreneur Haim Saban outbid a group led by Televisa for Univision, but the Mexican broadcaster may still gain control of the number-one U.S.
Spanish-language broadcaster, according to an influential Wall Street analyst. "The winning consortium will ultimately want to sell (Univision) and (Televisa) remains the logical buyer," wrote Merrill
Lynch analyst Jessica Reif Cohen in a report Tuesday. Cohen also urged the Saban group to boost value by selling Univision's radio and music businesses once the $13.7 billion transaction closes.
