Brangelina Pix Drive Traffic To TV, Movie Sites

Photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with baby Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, along with summer movie openings and new reality TV shows, sent workers in droves to entertainment sites last month, according to new Nielsen//NetRatings data.

For the week ending June 25, AOL Television, MSN TV, and MSN Movies were the three fastest-growing sites at work, according to Nielsen//NetRatings. Traffic to both AOL Television and MSN TV almost doubled from the week ending June 18 to the week ending June 25, while MSN Movies grew 57 percent during the same period.

Overall, for the week ending June 25, AOL Television drew 1.621 million visitors, up from 835,000 the week before; MSN TV garnered 1.492 million visitors, up from 769,000; and MSN Movies claimed 2.87 million, up from 1.827.

This summer, many office workers were apparently also lured by home improvement sites. Traffic to HGTV swelled to 1.1 million for the week ending June 25, up 56 percent from 729,000 the week ending June 18; Home Depot's site grew 48 percent to 1.8 million, and Lowe's saw 28 percent growth to 1.1 million over the same period.
