"The Ruins," an upcoming thriller by Scott Smith, author of "A Simple Plan," will be previewed on
Entertainment Weekly's Web site, EW.com, starting today. The deal, which was arranged by
interactive agency Special Ops Media, will allow EW.com readers to download the first 10 pages of the book, and the online component will be promoted in the July 7 print edition of
Entertainment
Weekly. The book--which is being published by Alfred A. Knopf, a division of Random House--has already been optioned for a movie deal, with Smith penning the screenplay.
