Yahoo, which jointly produced the Web site FIFAWorldcup.com with the football association, has recorded 4.2 billion page views and 138 million video streams of World Cup content from June 9 to July 9.
Site sponsors included a host of blue-chip advertisers, such as Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Budweiser, Toshiba, Fuji, Gillette, Philips, and Hyundai.
