Dell Signed As Exclusive Advertiser For CNN Exchange

  • August 8, 2006
CNN has struck its first exclusive charter ad deal with Dell computers for its new user-generated broadband CNN Exchange. Dell will get category exclusivity on the site: www.CNN.com/exchange. The company began running ads yesterday, and will continue through October. The computer giant gets a number of media placements online, a featured ad on the home page, and a 30-second spot seen with all CNN Exchange broadband clips. Dell will also sponsor Quick Vote areas on the CNN Exchange home page. Like other news organizations, especially those on the Web, CNN launched CNN Exchange August 1 to gain the benefit of journalism from average viewers. User-generated content on CNN Exchange--which includes video, audio, articles and graphics--will be identified as user-supplied. Dell ads, however, won't necessarily be attached to that video if it airs on CNN.
