Virginia Court Upholds Spam Conviction

An appellate court in Virginia upheld the conviction and 9-year prison sentence of Jeremy Jaynes of Raleigh, N.C., for sending spam. Jaynes was convicted in late 2004 of using phony Web addresses to send millions of e-mails a day. In Virginia, it's illegal to use a phony Internet address to send mass e-mails.
