Google Wednesday released a set of featured content for its satellite mapping product, Google Earth, from partners including the Discovery Channel, the United Nations Environmental Program, the
National Park Service, the Jane Goodall Institute, and Turn Here, a video city guide. The content will appear as "overlays" over the satellite maps, which, when clicked, will display video or copy.
The video content from the Discovery Channel will contain short video ads; Google will not share in that ad revenue.
