Heavy.com Lures MTV Vet

Doug Rohrer, formerly executive vice president for emerging media at MTV Networks, has been named executive vice president for revenue at entertainment site Heavy. Rohrer will oversee all revenue streams at youth-oriented Heavy with an emphasis on ad sales. Heavy advertisers include Unilever, Coca-Cola, Nike, and Chrysler. "Heavy has a cult following of 18- to-34-year-old males and they've already 'cracked the code' of how to successfully integrate advertising with content in the broadband space," said Rohrer in a prepared statement. In the same statement, Heavy co-CEO said he expected Rohrer to help the company more than triple ad revenues in 2006.
