Federated Media, a network of Web sites including Digg and Boing Boing, will also begin managing advertising on SportsBlogs Nation, a network of sports-related blogs. As part of the deal, SB Nation is
to serve as an anchor property of a "sports federation" enabling advertisers to reach sports fans. Since its creation in December 2004, SB Nation has grown to include 84 sports-focused online
communities, receiving a total of about 7 million page views a month. FM will take over advertising management at SB Nation effective immediately, and its new "sports federation" will launch in
January 2007.
