Tribune Revs Down 1% In October, Publishing Division Continues Decline

Tribune Company's October revenues looked bleak. Consolidated revenues for the period were $428 million, down 1% from last year's $432 million. Publishing revenues in October were $317 million, compared with $330 million last year, down 3.9%. Ad revenues decreased 4% to $254 million, compared with $265 million in October 2005. Broadcasting and entertainment group revenues in October increased 8.4% to $111 million, compared with $102 million last year. TV revenues rose 5.1% thanks to political, auto and telecom. Radio/entertainment increased 36.7% primarily due to additional Cub home games this year.
