  • December 7, 2006
24/7 news services have a new entry: France 24. The first French international news channel to broadcast round-the-clock debuts today in the U.S. on MHzNetworks. It starts transmission in Washington, D.C. on MHz3 Comcast channel 186. Frederick Thomas, general manager of MHz Networks, says France 24 is positioning itself between CNN and the Arab media. France 24 broadcasts primarily in English and covers business, news, culture, and sports. On Jan. 1, France 24 will appear on MHz Worldview on PBS stations in leading U.S. cities, as well as on the DirecTV and GlobeCast WorldTV services.
