Carat Boosts Ad Outlook, Cites U.S., Asia

Moving counter to other industry forecasts downgrading the outlook for ad spending in 2007, Carat Sunday raised its projections, estimating global ad spending will increase 5.8%, up from its previous projections of a 5.5% gain. Carat, which cited improvements in the domestic advertising economies of the U.S. and Japan, also revised its 2006 estimate to a 6.0% gain, up from 5.7% previously.
