Colbert's 'Truthiness' Merriam-Webster's Word Of Year

Who says TV isn't educational? When Stephen Colbert, star of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," debuted in 2005, he popularized the world "truthiness," which he defines as "truth that comes from the gut, not books." Millions in a Merriam-Webster online survey agree. By a 5-1 margin, visitors picked "truthiness" as Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year for 2006.
