Amazon Opens Store Selling Shoes, Bags

  • January 4, 2007
Amazon opened a second store on the Web yesterday, marking the first time it has ever strayed from the Amazon brand.

Endless.com, selling shoes and handbags, began beta-testing--offering free overnight delivery on 250 brands, and more than 15,000 styles and colors for men, women and kids.

Endless.com also provides 24-hour customer service phone support. Amazon is jumping into crowded territory: Zappos currently leads the category, and Gap recently launched its online shoestore, PiperLime. -- Sarah Mahoney
