Citigroup Sponsors Golden Globe Webcast On MSN

Citigroup tonight will sponsor a Webcast to accompany the Golden Globe awards, which will be streamed tonight on MSN. MEC Entertainment, the branded entertainment division of Mediaedge:cia, put the show together.

The Webcast, starring Dick Clark, will be produced by Dick Clark Productions. The site carries Citigroup branding, and the Webcast will include pre-roll ads for the financial services company.

The show will go live on an MSN microsite at 7 p.m. tonight, highlighting the red carpet entrance of the award show attendees. The microsite, which went live last month when the nominations were announced, currently hosts a gallery of the nominees, clips from previous awards shows, and a "fantasy game" where users can pick their own winners and see how their predictions stack up. Elements of the Webcast will include backstage footage, an online feed from the press room, and live interviews with the winners.

Last year, MSN hosted a similar microsite for the 2006 Oscars, with video, photo galleries, and articles by industry commentators, sponsored by Hyundai.

Chet Fenster, managing partner with MEC Entertainment, said that the show will give significant visibility to Citibank. "Citi will have a branded presence in the show such that it's no mistake that they're the ones that have brought this to you."
