General Nutrition Centers, Inc. has signed Gold Medal Olympic Gymnast Mary Lou Retton to appear in TV and print ads, as well as other promotions. Retton was the darling of the 1984 Olympic Games in
Los Angeles, winning five medals, the most by any athlete that year. She is still the only American ever to win the Olympic All-Around Title.
GNC also said it will make a small contribution to
Stars Gymnastics of Houston, where Retton serves as a volunteer, to help cover the team's travel expenses.
GNC also recently announced a partnership with Jerome "The Bus" Bettis, the legendary NFL
running back and leader of the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XL Championship Team.
