WNBC HD Airs LX.TV, Show First Run On Web

LX.TV Life/Style Television is a broadband television network geared toward affluent viewers. But it kicked off a partnership with WNBC HD yesterday, airing "LX.TV 1st/Look: NYC," a daily 30-minute show that highlights hot New York destinations. Content originally made for the Web will now be packaged into a recurring series on network TV.

The show, hosted by LX.TV personality Sara Gore, will feature new restaurants, shops and nightlife. Future episodes will explore exercise, kids and weekend escapes. "1ST/Look" airs on WNBC HD's digital channel, WNBC 4.4.

LX.TV video has been available on WNBC.com since October 2006, through NBBC.

"The content on LX.TV is vibrant, young and very current. It translates well to the broadcast medium and is a good fit for our core audience," says WNBC HD David Hyman, WNBC HD vice president, programming and creative services. "We're excited to be part of the first Web to TV experience." Joseph Varet, CEO of LX.TV, says his company wants to build on what he calls an "innovative partnership to bring the power of online video to broadcast television."

LX.TV plans to expand to Miami, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
