Centro Names Hoyler President, COO

Bob Hoyler is joining Centro, a national network for placing display ads in newspapers' online Web sites, as president and chief operating officer, the company announced Tuesday. Hoyler, previously the founder of MotivationNet as well as the technology guru for MyPoints, will coordinate Centro's online infrastructure to handle heavy traffic from a large number of advertisers seeking to place ads in various groupings of local newspapers. Shawn Riegsecker, Centro's founder and CEO, said Hoyler will be responsible for "application of scalable technologies which will continue to improve Centro's media platform for the local industry." Recently, The Wall Street Journal reported that Centro is in talks with Gannett, McClatchy, and Tribune to serve as the platform for placing display ads in their papers' Web sites.
