Feds Want Industry To Curb Kids Food Ads

Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) and FCC Chairman Kevin Martin are spearheading a forum to encourage voluntary self-policing in fast-food ads, given national concerns over childhood obesity. The bipartisan effort, touted as a public-private effort by the GOP, will include major marketers, media companies, health groups, consumer groups and advertising associations. The forum is scheduled for Feb. 14.
