Beleaguered Cable Giant Adelphia Explores Sale Of Company

Adelphia Communications, the fifth largest cable TV operator in the U.S., Thursday announced plans to "explore a possible sale of the company" as part of a Chapter 11 reorganization plan. The dissolution of Adelphia's cable systems could fundamentally restructure and, depending on the buyer, further consolidate the cable TV landscape, which has become dominated by Comcast Corp.
