Deborah Barak has been promoted to executive vice president, business affairs at CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group. Barak, a senior vice president in that department since February
2002, will report to Nancy Tellem, president of CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group. In her new position, Barak will oversee business affairs for both CBS Entertainment and
Paramount Network Television. Prior to being named senior vice president in February 2002, she was senior vice president for business planning and special projects, playing a key role in the
negotiation of new media deals and co-production agreements. Barak has handled some of the network's highest profile negotiations, including the license fee renewal and cast renegotiations for
"Everybody Loves Raymond" and "C.S.I." cast and producer contract negotiations. She also structured the original "Survivor" cast contract, which has become the template for reality television
agreements.
