MMA: 70% Now Texting

Consumers are participating more often in mobile marketing campaigns, according to an annual study by the Mobile Marketing Association. In the study, which surveyed 1,800 consumers ages 13 to 65 years old, 48% said their wireless phone usage has increased significantly over the last year. Text-messaging was the most popular feature, with nearly 70% having used it. Of those responding to mobile marketing campaigns, their participation in voting increased to 29% in 2006 from 8 percent in 2005. Downloads, coupons and alert-based services were among the most highly prized mobile services, the survey found.
