At a minimum, the AGs say visitors should have to enter their name and full address, or a driver's license number, exactly as it appears on a government-issued ID before they can
access the site. They propose several other safeguards, such as sending a postcard home or making a phone call to check that a legal-aged adult is checking out the site.
A-B says it is the first in its industry to adopt independent age verification for a Web site, and that some adults complain that the process is already too cumbersome.
