Nielsen BuzzMetrics Names Two New Group Heads

Nielsen BuzzMetrics has hired executives to head up its services in consumer packaged goods and electronics--categories heavily affected by the growth of blogs, message boards, and streaming video.

Greg Thornhill joins the measurement firm as vice president of client services and practice lead for consumer packaged goods, which includes the firm's focus on nutrition and food. John Latona joins as vice president of client services and practice lead for consumer electronics.

Thornhill was most recently vice president of business development at Catalina Marketing, and has worked as a marketing director within the Oral Care business groups at both The Gillette Co. and Procter & Gamble.

Latona is a 15-year veteran in consumer tech. He was formerly vice president of eBusiness at XM Satellite Radio, and prior to that was vice president at iXL--where he consulted to AOL, Compaq, GE, DuPont, First USA, Fleet Bank, and Bank One, among others.
