mSpot Adds Clear Channel To Mobile Lineup

The mobile entertainment company mSpot has added to its array of radio and entertainment services by striking a deal with giant Clear Channel Radio.

The agreement gives users of Sprint and U.S Cellular--which mSpot has deals with--immediate access to 10 Clear Channel top market stations, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami.

Daren Tsui, CEO and co-founder of mSpot, says wireless carriers and media companies are committed to bringing compelling content to mobile phones, adding, "radio programming is among the most requested mobile content."

In addition, mSpot will get access to Spanish-language content from four channels and another channel of hip-hop music. Clear Channel Radio's Format Lab--an effort that develops new and unconventional radio content to be played on a variety of devices--created these special niche channels. In the coming weeks, mSpot will also be distributing live broadcasts from around 100 Clear Channel Radio stations.

Launched in 2005, mSpot now has entertainment/content deals with Buena Vista VOD, ESPN, Lionsgate, CBS, Radio Disney and Universal Pictures.
