As expected, American Express Tuesday officially launched its Flight & Room Finder [MediaPost's Marketing Daily, Feb. 12, 2007], online tools it claims will make booking reservations easier and faster than before.

The Finder enables card members enrolled in its Membership Rewards program to search award inventory, transfer points directly into a frequent flyer or frequent guest account, and book flights or hotel stays in a single online transaction.

Speaking to investors at a semi-annual conference earlier this year, Ralph Andretta, SVP/GM of Membership Rewards, described the upcoming Flight & Room Finder as a one-stop, hassle-free resource for points redemption. Instead of calling or visiting the Web sites of multiple airlines to check availability and make a reservation, cardholders will need to make only one stop--at the AmEx Web site.
