The New York Times late last week launched a new weekly e-mail newsletter from PLAY, the sports magazine of
The New York Times. The free newsletter, to be distributed each Thursday
beginning on April 26, will feature the voices of PLAY's writers and editors on related subjects. Interactive and multimedia features will also include readers' opinions and polls. The newsletter will
launch with a base of nearly 9,000 subscribers, and the
Times plans to promote the newsletter online and in print.
