A year after the two companies merged, WebSideStory, Inc., the provider of real-time analytics applications, has changed its name to Visual Sciences, Inc. The company will trade on Nasdaq under the symbol "VSCN" effective today.

"Our choice of Visual Sciences as our one name going forward signifies or commitment to helping our clients profit from the explosion of customer data that they face, regardless of the channel that it comes from," said Jim MacIntyre, the firm's chief executive officer.

Also yesterday, Visual Sciences unveiled its new HBX Analytics 4.0, featuring extensive e-commerce reporting and analysis functionality, and its Technology Platform 5, which promises to provide "fast answers to the hardest data questions."
