Newspaper Group Names First Interactive Sales Director

Gary Strauss, a 20-year industry veteran, was named interactive sales director for the National Newspaper Network. He will work in concert with the NNN sales team to build newspaper Web site sales opportunities for national advertisers.

Strauss's professional background includes sales, business development and management roles at Lycos Inc., DoubleClick, DivXNetwork. Go2Net/Infospace and Times Mirror Magazines.

Most recently, Strauss was the vice president of sales at Imaginova, where he increased national online revenues by 666% for Space.com and Livescience.com during his four-year tenure.
