The
San Francisco Chronicle is cutting 100 jobs: 80 union and 20 management positions in the editorial department. The cuts represent roughly 25 percent of the newsroom staff of about 400. The
reason for the cuts--a loss of key ad revenues--is plaguing big-city newspapers nationwide.
