CBS Audience Network Adds 13 Community, Social Partners

Continuing its efforts to spread its online content around the Web, CBS Interactive said its month-old, ad-supported CBS Audience Network, previously known as the CBS Interactive Audience Network, has added 13 partners in the social- and community-network realms.

The agreements are designed to empower the embedding of clips from CBS shows into user profiles, Web sites, blogs, wikis, widgets and community pages.

The new CBS Audience Network partners, and their areas of functionality, are: Automattic--blogging software (WordPress); Clearspring--widgets; DAVE Networks--social community platform; Goowy Media--widgets; meebo--instant messaging; MeeVee--video aggregator; MuseStorm--content syndication; Ning -- social networking' RockYou!--widgets; Slide--personalized photos and videos; VideoEgg--videos and video ads for communities; Voxant--news and advertising syndication (TheNewsRoom); vSocial--social networking for video.

Content syndication partners for full-length CBS shows, as announced last month, include AOL, Microsoft, CNET, Comcast, Joost, Bebo, Brightcove, Netvibes, Sling Media and Video.

Distribution deals that were already in place for CBS online content prior to the launch of the audience network include Amazon UnBox and Apple.
